A new version of mussorgsky is available in Extras-devel. Mussorgky is a metadata editor and album-art downloader for Maemo that allows a basic organization of the music collection directly on the devices.
This time the changes are mainly on the UI:
- New main screen using fancy big buttons. Thanks to Gabriel Schulhof for his help translating the C version of this custom widget (in hildon-application-manager ) to python!
- All songs are arranged now in a big list with interactive search
- Fixed thumbnail location, so MAFW uses the thumbs generated by mussorgsky.
- Now an album with multiple artists appears only once in the albums list
And few more things here and there. As usual, feedback is welcome.
Screenshots help getting feedback. 😉
Hey Ivan!
Some reason why Mussorgsky isn’t in Extras-testing yet?
It seems work like a charm here. Simple and powerful.
Some suggestions:
* In “Browse selection”, it would be nice browse for Artist, Album, etc.
* It also would be nice to search “Album art” for music even without an album defined.
It would be very useful publish that fancy-button code in somewhere. I think some people could be interested in it.
Regards.
Unable to edit anything. Mussorgsky 0.3-1 just showing existing metadata. Does it support ogg with skeleton(which are perfectly playable on N900, both audio only vorbis and also audio/video vorbis/theora)? I suppose ogg without skeleton IS of course supported…
At the moment OGG-writing is not supported, but it is quite easy to add (it is already available in the library used for writing).
I plan to add it for the 0.4 version, that should happen “soon” 🙂
